Brand new day
Feb. 1st, 2009 12:29 pmWow, it's February already. How did that happen?
On the plus side it's less than two weeks until the Merlin meetup which I am very excited about.
Last night I dreamt I was trying to go to the beach where they filmed The Labyrinth of Gedref only when I got there the tide was in so I couldn't see anything. Instead of going away I started wading into the water so I could get a decent photo. LOL.
I'm thinking of going to Glastonbury in March for a weekend. The town, not the music festival I hasten to add. It's just somewhere I've fancied going for a long time. Anyone live near there who would be interested in meeting up?
Now I need to decide whether to go into work. My boss made it clear that I in no way had to but he said it would make things easier if I did. I'm sure if I don't go in I'll feel guilty. I was kind of hoping it would snow so at least I'd have an excuse but so far the skies are clear. The job itself should only take an hour at most but it's a 30 minute walk to get there...

In other news, I had this thought about how in Proper Arthuriana, Lancelot goes off questing 'cause he fancies Guenever and knows he shouldn't, and basically spends his time defeating Nasty Knights and sending them off to Camelot to swear fealty to Arthur. Okay, actually, I had two thoughts. The first was, OMG, Arthur, that is actually an ultra good plan. Strongest and best knight in the kingdom, get him to have a hugemassive illicit Thing for your wife, and out of guilt he will not only be insanely loyal to you, but will also spend loads of time travelling about showing off his mad knightly prowess in fights against everyone else and reinforcing their loyalty to you, too.
Second was that obviously, there must be crack!fic where confused knights from other kingdoms start showing up at Camelot to swear fealty to Arthur in the Merlin universe, because to prove his worthiness, Lancelot has been defeating people & sending them off to A -- see above. Hilarity ensues.
I'd do it myself but I'm swamped with fic stuff at the moment.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
