Those of you who have been on my flist for longer than a year will remember The Sunday Poll

[livejournal.com profile] notsowise_sage said he missed it so the poll is back. For one week only! Or until I think of more pointless yet amusing questions to ask

It's been one year to the day since I started watching Smallville.

I'm still slightly baffled at how quickly this fandom has become such a major part of my life. I'm certainly not complaining.

After Buffy ended I slowly drifted out of the fandom, although I still have lots of the great people I met there on my flist, and for a while I just sort of drifted. I got involved in Pirates of the Caribbean for a bit, then Lord of the Rings. I tried to get into the Lost fandom but while there's loads of communites dedicated to the show there was never much of a community feeling to the fandom.

Just when I was teetering on getting involved in the Supernatural fandom, Smallville came along and knocked me over. Amusingly I was not very impressed with it at first and in fact mocked it quite a lot. Slowly, though, I came to completely fall in love with Clark and Lex. Pretty soon I was reading fic, and not long after that I started writing fic.

Along the way I joined communuties, created communites and made a load of wonderful friends.

So, really, I owe it all to Jensen Ackles. [livejournal.com profile] jacqui_hw would never have bought all of Smallville on DVD if Jensen hadn't been in Season 4.

Thanks Jensen, and thanks to everyone in the SV fandom for being awesome and letting me be part of it all.

The backgound colour of my LJ looks MUCH deeper and more garish at work than it does on either of my computers at home

Even with the customs fee this would only cost me about £70

Damn! Why does it have to be Christmas now? LOL! I could afford this easily any other month

Booked my hotel at the airport for when I fly to the US

All that's left to do is book my train tickets which I will do tonight once I've checked my plane times and get some spending money which I will do after I get paid next month

Huzzah!

I'm all excited now!

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Wednesday I bought porn for [livejournal.com profile] spikewriter (10 points). In August I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). Last Saturday I didn't flush (-1 points). Last Monday I helped [livejournal.com profile] daughtermestizo across the street (6 points). In July I ruled Duluth, Minnesota as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points).

Overall, I've been nice (734 points). For Christmas I deserve a Lego set!

Sincerely,
Hils

The Top Gear clip that broke me last night. I should explain what happened prior to this. The boys each bought a car (with their own money) made by British Leyland to prove to the producers of the show that BL made good cars. They were then set a series of challenges to do in their cars to test them. At this point they had to park their car on a steep hill and apply the handbrake. If the car stayed in place they won back £100 of the money they'd spent on the car

Jeremy broke me

And here's some Strictly Come Dancing.

Kelly's Samba that had her pretty much in tears

Matt's Salsa which made me drool
