Home Sweet Home
Aug. 27th, 2007 04:36 pmBack from Liverpool and am knackered. It's been a long couple of days and it didn't help that last night our hotel room was right next to the wedding party marquee. I haven't had much sleep this weekend
Wot I dun in Liverpool:
Got up insanely early (6:30am) yesterday for the drive to Liverpool.
Went to the Maritime Museum and looked at lots of cool stuff and a rather nifty Titanic exhibit.
Had a disappointing sugar and lemon crepe for lunch.
Did a bit of shopping
Went to The Tate and looked a lots of interesting paintings and photos as well as a load of weird stuff I didn't understand. Modern art just isn't my thing.
Went back to the hotel and dossed around playing Sims for a couple of hours whilst eating the Oreo cookies I'd forgotten I'd taken home with me.
Drove around St Helen's for ages trying to find somewhere to eat. Eventually found a Pizza Hut
Went back to the hotel and failed to sleep due to cheesy party music playing until the wee hours of the morning
Got up at a slightly more sensible time (8am) and went for a swim. Felt good.
Had breakfast and then wanted to go back to sleep.
Drove into Liverpool and went to the Walker Gallery which had proper art as well as modern stuff. Had a look at the Josh Kirby exhibit and was most impressed. As well as doing a load of the Discworld art he also did a few famous movie posters including Life of Brian and Return of the Jedi.
They had a sculpture of Alexander the Great so of course my fannish side started to squee and I started thinking of a plot where Clark and Lex go to an art gallery (except I sort of did that in Six Weeks with the museum)
Went to Burger King so Mum-Ra could get a drink and then we came home
Jack Davenport was on Classic FM while we were driving and he was sad that he hasn't been asked to be in any of the Harry Potter films yet. Aww! He requested Eroica by Beethoven.
Popped into the shops on the way back to York and bought a dress for
padfoot_uk's wedding. YAY!
Now I'm going to have some dinner and play some more Sims. I might make my Buffy icons tomorrow since you were all kind enough to vote in my polls
