Laptop vs Desktop

odie77 asked me why I'm upgrading the RAM on my desktop PC when the laptop I'm getting is already much better. I dunno, I feel kind of weird using a laptop as my main computer and that's probably silly. I've just always had a desktop PC and to me a laptop is for things like travelling and when I can't be arsed to get out of bed. LOL

I suppose it makes sense not to waste money on extra RAM when my laptop will have 1GB of it and an 80GB hard drive (compared to the 40GB my desktop has). Am I being silly and old fashioned by wanting to keep my desktop running and wanting it to run well?

It started chucking it down with snow just as I left work this evening and stopped just before I got home. I could feel my legs actually burning with cold and they are currently a rather alarming shade of bright red. That was with me wearing a pair of trousers and boots!

I'm 3 episodes into Season 1 of Rome and I am liking it muchly

I'd forgotten James Puresex is in it so that's an added bonus ;)

jacqui_hw has been reading about it on Wiki and filling in the gaps in my Roman history knowledge (which is very gappy)

Shall watch some more tomorrow
