A year already
May. 13th, 2006 06:47 amToday is the 1 year anniversary of my flat burning down. Pretty much the shittiest day I've ever had
Mum (on the phone): Hils, I'm really sorry but we've had to have your cat put down
Me: Ok. Uh...my flat is on fire

Yeah, don't want to have a day like that again any time soon.
Still, next weekend we should hopefully be moving into our spiffy new place. There will be photos once we're all settled

May. 13th, 2006 06:56 amWe're pretty much up to date with our work now so this is the last Saturday I'll get to work overtime. I'll have to get used to living on a regular salary after this. Boo! LOL!
I'm onto Chatper 6 of Astin's book. Wow, he really does love himself, doesn't he? Chapter 6 and he's only just found out about the audition for the role of Sam. He didn't even know who Tolkien was or what Lord of the Rings was o.O

Moving update
May. 13th, 2006 02:44 pmWell, jacqui_hw and I have been on a mission to gather boxes and I think we have enough now. We should be pretty much packed by the end of the weekend
Now we just need an offical date to get the keys so I can book the van. Am going to ring the estate agent on Monday and find out what's happening

May. 13th, 2006 08:19 pmjacqui_hw has gone out to bond with her new work colleagues so I've got the place to myself for the evening. Going to have some dinner in a minute, then do some more packing and then I might watch a film or play some more VolleyballX-Men was on this evening. OMG Hugh Jackman is teh sex. Home come I never noticed before?

May. 13th, 2006 08:35 pmI wish I had more time to read fanfic. I used to do it all the time.
Most nights I'm only online for a couple of hours maximum and I use that time to do my icon making. Maybe when we've moved and we've sorted out getting mine and Jacqui's computers networked then I'll be able to spend more time online. I dunno, it was different when I lived with Tom. He was on the phone to his girlfriend pretty much all night every night so I was ok to just spend every night online in my room
Now I feel guilty for shutting myself away in my room for hours on end. Even if I'm just sitting in the living room watching TV while Jacqui is on her laptop at least we're in the same room and being vaguely sociable.
Still, when we move the computer will be in the living room (probably) so that might be a bit better.
Sorry, it just occured to me that I just skip over all the entries that contain fic these days (unless I'm at work and bored). I haven't read any Buffy, Lost, Hornblower, or BSG fics for months. Apart from that one I recced today obviously
