Reassuring

I just went and looked at the icons I made last night and it's only really the last one I made that isn't any good. The rest are ok, maybe just need a bit of tweaking. YAY!

Jacqui didn't get back in time for us to see Capote last night so we're going to save it for next week. You gotta love Orange Wednesdays. I think rancour and I are going to see V For Vendetta next week some time too :)

Had weird dreams last night. Can't remember all of it. I remember sneaking out of work to go and buy books and DVDs. I remember meeting Mum-Ra in a book shop. I remember meeting nam_melon and padfoot_uk in a restaurant and them trying to get rid of me :( Something about my dad and the dogs. Can't really remember

At the advice of nessaancalime I have invested in a new version of Nero and I can now make proper DVDs. WHEE!!!

The package I bought also included a copy of DVD Shrink. Uh...what is this and what's it for? Do I need it to make DVDs of TV episodes I downloaded?

Louis De Bernieres writes such wonderfully interesting characters. I'm only 4 chapters into Birds Without Wings and I'm hooked already. This man has yet to write a book I didn't love.

I still need to invest in some of docbrite's newer books so see how they compare with the ones I've read

Another burning question

When making DVD Videos is there any way of reducing the file size without reducing the quality? I'm trying to burn TV show episodes onto DVD and as it stands I can only fit one episode onto a DVD. Two is just ever so slightly too much. I was just wondering if there was any way around this. Ideally we want to be able to play these on the DVD player in our living room

Crash

We just finished watching Crash. Can definitely see why it won best picture. Powerful stuff. Once I've seen Capote I will have seen all the Best Picture nominated film. With the exception of Brokeback Mountain I thoroughly enjoyed them all. The Academy actually got it right for once. Go figure

Just burned the first episode of Life On Mars onto a DVD just to check it work. Wow! Works perfectly. Now, if I can just work out how to fit more than one episode onto a disc I'll be happy
