I'm here, I'm still alive and my head is only ever so slightly sore. Has a GREAT time last night. Flick's crowd are ace. At one point we were sat in the pup and one lad raised his glass and said "Take what you can" and EVERYONE (including me) replied "give nothing back!" It was then that I really knew I was going to like these people a lot

Flick danced! We made her! I have incriminating photos AND video which I will post as soon as I get home

Dancing to cheesy 80s music is the best!

Flick is still passed out on the floor. Can't wait to see what her hangover is like. She was drunk before we left the first pub *g*

Yes, I am a loving a kind sister aren't I? ;)

Edit: Ooh, and one of the guys in the group knows where Sean Bean's house in Sheffield AND has his home phone number. Alas, he found out through work and isn't allowed to tell anyone or he'll get fired. Meh, I think it would be worth it ;)

Dream

I forgot to post about my very weird dream that I had last night. I was on board The Indefatigable. Captain Pellew was there but I don't recall seeing anyone else from Hornblower. Then another ship appeared out of nowhere and started firing on us. Pellew said that the only way the ship could have known where we were was if someone on our ship had betrayed us.

We won the battle and it transpired that the person who betrayed us was Sweet William from Sharpe. I killed him and we threw his body overboard.

Woke up after that

Near miss

That was almost a very embarassing incident

Yesterday, just before I left for Sheffield I managed to knock over a can of diet coke over and got some on my keyboard. I quickly cleaned it up but I didn't want any of the keys to end up stuck so I removed the ones that had got wet and cleaned then. Unfortunately when I tried to remove the W it pinged out of the keyboard, flew over my head and landed god knows where. I looked for it as long as I could but I had to leave or I was going to miss my train

Had resigned myself to probably having to buy a new keyboard but then when I got home today I found the elusive W in amongst my shoes at the bottom of my wardrobe. Phew.

Lesson learned here is never drink coke in front of the PC

Got this from [livejournal.com profile] gledster2000. Basically you have to review a bunch of films and then it tells you which of your friends you're compatible with. Quite fun

Nicked from [livejournal.com profile] hobbituk

1. Open a music player.
2. Go to 'all music'/'library'.
3. Hit shuffle/repeat/randomise.
4. Find photos of the first 15 artists/bands that come up (no repeats and no cheating).
5. Have people guess who the artists/bands are. (Comments are screened)

I wandered downstairs earlier to watch one of my 3 Amazon Rental DVDs while BSG was downloading. Unfortunately I didn't actually realise how late it was so I only had 15 minute before Just The Two Of Us was on. Initally I was going to post about how the general public are clearly insane and are voting off all the good people who can actually sing whilst leaving on crap people because they are vaguely amusing. I was also going to pass comment about how [livejournal.com profile] jacqui_hw is right and Chris clearly deserves to win. His performance tonight actually brought tears to my eyes it was that beautiful.

Anyway, that's not the point of this post. After Just The Two Of Us finished Gideon's Daughter was on. I'd seen a few adverts for it during the week and I was mildly curious, most because it had a good cast (Bill Nighy, Miranda Richardson and Robert Lindsay). I decided to watch the first few minutes to see what it was like and I wound up watching the whole thing. Now, I've watched a lot of programmes and films like this and at the end of them I always have a slightly empty feeling, like I haven't quite 'got it'. These sorts of things generally revolve around the upper middle class, whom I have very little in common with and mostly because that's the world the author comes from, and is generally filled with lots of symbolism which I never fully understand. I can appreciate it from an artistic perspective. It was beautifully filmed, the script was excellent and the acting was spot on. It just reached a point towards the end where I didn't fully understand what was happening and that somehow I was being left behind. I didn't 'get' the relationship between Gideon and his daughter, why he shut down completely when he was reunited with her, the significance of the flowers appearing everywhere. It's like reading a poem. I find poetry a beautiful art form but it's very rare that I understand what the poet is trying to say. Maybe it's a lacking in my education or maybe my mind just isn't the sort that can process that sort of thing. I don't know

Phew, that was a long ramble, wasn't it. Sorry, I just felt the need to express what I was feeling right at this moment. Now I'm going to go and watch some mindless BSG. LOL

Edit: On second thoughts, it's late. I think I'll just read some Da Vinci Code in bed instead. BSG tomorrow.

Aww!

You Are a Natural Flirt

Believe it or not, you're a really effective flirt.
And you're so good, you hardly notice that you're flirting.
Your attitude and confidence make you a natural flirt.
And the fact that you don't know it is just that more attractive!
