I need to ring our landlord today. For the past few days our boiler has been making this horrible rattling noise whenever the heating is turning on. Greg things it's just something loose inside the casing but I want it checked out. We can barely hear the TV.

First day of the new job was ok. The big pile of work for the new project isn't coming in until next week now so I have time to settle in. Don't like my new desk though. I'm facing new boss lady and I have my back to the whole of the rest of the office so I don't know what's going on behind me. Also means I can't sneakily go online to check LJ when I should be working ;)

Work stuff

It's amazing what a bit of responsibility can do. I'm actually starting to see this as a career rather than just a job and I'm actually enjoying it. I still need to find my feet a bit but new boss lady is being really supportive. I don't want to give this up in 3 months. LOL.

Yesterday it was suggested I put my name down to be the Staff Rep at the senior manager's meetings. I did this a few times a year or so ago and it's quite interesting if not slightly daunting. I probably wouldn't have bothered going for it this time if someone hadn't suggested it to me. Anyway, it's going to a vote and there's four of us in the running so we'll just have to wait and see. Won't be crushed with disappointment if I don't get it.

All this because I'm 'vocal' at meetings. Translated it means I'm loud and bolshy. LOL.

On a totally unrelated note the landlord is coming over later to fix the boiler so hopefully when I get home there will be peace and quiet.

And I have to go to HSBC after work to continue the war. I'm SO looking forward to the resolution of this so I can write my snarky letter of doom. I got very shouty at the woman on the phone on Friday
