Ok, at a first glance the idea of Christopher Eccleston being the second coming of Christ might seem a little...insane. However, this film turned out to be (in my opinion) a very interesting and rather realistic take on what would happen if the son of God came back to earth today. A lot of interesting theological discussions arose, the main one being are we, as human beings, better off in a Godless society? Wow, I really wish we'd studied this when I was at university. Unfortunately I left university before it was made. It would have made a fantasic base point for my dissertation.
Ah well, I shall have to settle for musing over the issues it raised in my own mind. Thinking about it, half my Theology class were CU members and they'd have gone a bit mental if they'd had to watch it. Thinking about it, so would I back then, my religious beliefs have changed a lot since I left university.
Hmm...
