Bored now

Ideally I want to go shopping today, buy my new digital camera and spend the afternoon playing with it so I'm ready for Whitby tomorrow. However, since I'm in Northallerton, the town of only 3 shops, I can't do that. Instead I shall just sit around, maybe pop out for some lunch and then watch some Hornblower this afternoon *sigh*

And nobody is online to talk to me :(

Following on from this post. It's time for stupid question #2

What is optical zoom and why is it so good. The camera I have at the moment doesn't have optical zoom and I've never had any problems with it. However, if optical zoom is so great I've found this camera which is now a possibility

Bought my new camera. Have played with it a bit and it's pretty good. Will give it a good test run tomorrow when I go to Whitby
