Once again we return to the strange place that is my mind
Last night I dreamt I was going to visit my parents. I was just walking up to the front door when I heard a smash coming from inside. I looked up to my bedroom window and saw the faces of two adult males looking out at me
"We're being burgled!" I told my mum. I pulled out my keys to go inside and suddenly I couldn't find my front door key. I turned the set of keys over and over for about five minutes, getting more and more stressed because the burglars would be getting away. Finally my mum opened the door with her key. Sure enough the place had been ransacked. My dog was limping, apparently having been kicked, and ther was no sign of the cats
My sister wandered down and told me the burglars were still upstairs. I told my mum to phone the police and my dad and she started crying saying she didn't know the number. I phoned my dad myself but there was a really bad signal because he was on the golf course. Then, somehow, he had arrived. He went to confront the burglars but they escaped, stealing my dads car to get away. It seemed other than trashing the place they hadn't actually taken anything.
The police arrived and said that even though my dad's car had a personalised registration plate, they'd never be able to find it.
My parents commenced cleaning the house.
"This must be weird for you." I said to my obviously still upset mum. "You've never been burgled before. It's happened to me twice so I'm used to it now."
Woke up after that. Very weird!
