Random thoughts

It kind of hit me today that I don't mind being at work as much as I used to. Not just because the office bitca leaves me alone most of the time, it just doesn't bother me so much.

This is bad

Why? Because my writing used to drive me. Every day I'd go to work and the reason it was driving me insane was because I wanted to be at home writing. I just don't feel that anymore. I can't pinpoint when it happened, it just did.

Now I was sat at my desk realising that this could be it for me. I'm doomed to spend my life paper pushing because my love for writing has slowly been sucked away and replaced my accpetance of the monotony I now live in.

Jesus it's scary. MUST motivate self this weekend. Even if it's just a fic I don't care. I want the fire back

Bah!

Sometimes I think I'm too nice for my own good. If I don't want to do something I should just say it instead of being all polite and then torturing myself.

Allow me to introduce you to Jenny. I lived with her for a year when I was at university and it was the worst year of my life! On the surface she seems like a nice enough girl, she's all sweet and helpful which unfortunatley only makes it harder.

Jenny is a hypercondriac, she's so tight with her money she insisted we break down things like the electricity bill so if she was away for a week she paid less than the rest of us and she loves nothing more than to criticise the way people live their lives.

She's one of these happy clappy christians whose solution to any problem is to say 'Jesus loves you. Pray about it and it will all be better'.

So, I'm having lunch with Rob on Friday when I get a text message from her asking me if I want to go over to hers for dinner (I haven't seen her since she got married in August). Feel all guilty about being neglectful and agree.

WORST evening of my life. Had to watch her and her husband fawning over each other and telling private jokes before being forced to play a board game.

Would have been fun if the point of the game wasn't to describe things (kind of like Taboo). Jenny and Andy insisted on using clues like 'I had one of these on my floor this morning'. Like I'm supposed to know that!!. Then had to listen to Andy gloat for about ten minutes after he won.

So, the moral of this. Stop feeling obliged to do stuff. JUST SAY NO!
