They Grow Up So Fast

I've hit 10k on the idol AU I'm writing and I'm only on chapter 4/16. This is definitely going to be the longest thing I've ever written. That's also 10k of unedited words. I tend to add when I'm editing so it will almost certainly be longer than it is now.

I'm finding it surprisingly easy given I don't generally write AUs. I really hope everything is in character.

I'm going to start posting at the end of the month so I need to edit the first chapter and send it to the two people who have kindly offered to beta. Hopefully they'll be able to either confirm I'm on the right track or tell me how to fix it.

Characterization is always a tough one, isnt it? I tend to tell myself that this is part of the AU, and a little leeway is allowed. As long as people don't go Who Is This? - and it takes a lot to really get a character completely wrong - I'm sure you'll be fine.

You've also read and watched enough canon to really have their characterization down pat. I have no doubt about that.
