hilsI should have known that being vaguely excited about something would jinx it. A few hours after this post I got a notification from the NHS app saying I need to self-isolate for 10 days because I was potentially in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid.
The only place I checked into yesterday was Subway when I popped in to pick up a sandwich before I went to meet Emma in the park for lunch. I was only in there for 5 minutes, masked, and there was 1 other customer in there at the same time as me. The problem is the stupid track and trace app gets you to check into a venue but you don't check out when you leave. So what this probably means is that someone at some point registered a positive test yesterday who had been in Subway at some point during the day. The chances of it being the person who was there at the same time as me is small, and I don't think we got close enough for me to have contracted anything, but still.
This now throws my plans for the meal withachray and elenothar up in the air.
Luckily for me Jacqui has some lateral flow tests left from when she had to self-isolate a couple of weeks ago. I took a test this evening and it was negative. I'll take another one on Wednesday morning and if that's also negative and I have no symptoms I should be fine to go out.
It's just shit, and I'm really upset. I've been looking forward to this for a few weeks.
