I really wanted to get my fic edited this afternoon but I'm struggling to feel motivated to do much of anything.

Watched an episode of Street Dance of China at lunchtime with a bunch of my Twitter friends and we all cried. I really love that instead of having judges they have team captains who get to participate in the dances with the contestants. They're so invested to the point where one of the captains had to eliminate some people from his team and just started crying. I don't know how any of us are going to survive the final.

I've drafted up my fic rec post for tomorrow so today hasn't been entirely unproductive I just wish I could get my creative hat back on. I kind of just want to chill out and listen to music today.

Yesterday was a lot of fun. I watched some more Lost Tomb 2 with [twitter.com profile] madamoisellebon and then most of our group chat piled onto Zoom for more of My Strange Friend.

It's becoming more and more obvious that the makers of this show only had Yibo for a limited amount of time. Despite the fact that he's supposed to be one of the central characters he's barely been in it for several episodes now. Sometimes his character is around but you only see him from the back, or the time he was strapped to a table with a sack over his head. I think if this wasn't now a group activity I'd have dropped this show. It really is pretty terrible but watching with a group (while drinking wine) and basically just chatting and laughing at it makes it bearable.

What was nice this week was that after a few people had to drop off the call because it was late where they were no one else wanted to leave so we ended up just hanging out and chatting. Someone suggested we watch something else together so I pulled up YouTube which was paused in the middle of a k-pop video I'd been watching before dinner. Someone on the call mentioned they hadn't watched the video for the latest BTS song so of course I had to fix that, which then led us down the YouTube rabbit hole. We watched a bunch of music videos with people making suggestions and we watched a couple of interviews with actors we like. It was a lovely way to end the evening.

Sometimes I feel bad that I am using the fact that I am stuck at home to just sit around and watch countless amounts of TV but a lot of it has now also become a social event. If I'm not streaming shows for people on Zoom or Discord I'm livetweeting and interacting with people that way.

Speaking of livetweeting Lost Tomb: Reboot is back! There had been rumours it was going to be back today but not really much in the way of promotion for it. Then last night it popped up on Twitter that it was back. 8 episodes have dropped so far, two of them free to watch and the rest for VIP members only.

Initially my plan was to wait for it to finish and then binge it like I did with the first season, but I just suggested to [twitter.com profile] madamoisellebon that instead of watching 4 episodes of Lost Tomb 2 tonight we watch two episodes of it and then the two free episodes of Reboot. Unsurprisingly she was 100% in favour of this plan. Look, we are weak for Zhu Yilong's face and as much as I grumbled about the Warehouse 11 storyline and the creepy Pangzi storyline I've missed this version of the characters.

Also, randomly, I was reading a post on Tumblr which was a rec list of k-dramas and it mentioned a Korean version of Life on Mars (yes, the one with the cop who travels back in time). My housemate asked me about it because she loves the British version (we both do) so I suggested we watch it together. This is the first time she has expressed any interest in any of the Asian dramas I've been watching so maybe this will be her gateway drug. I got one of my colleagues to watch Guardian a few weeks ago and she's now finished that and is halfway through The Untamed. She's already asking me to rec other shows :D

And I've only got 4 days at work this week! Friday afternoon I'm off to the cabin. Weather doesn't sound like it's going to be great but honestly just the change of scenery will be good for me I think. Hell, even the drive will be nice. The furthest I've gone since March is the grocery shop on the other side of town.

I love hearing about your fun times with friends! I hope you continue to tell us about them. I have a YouTube playlist of my fave Kpop MVs if you check that there's any on there you haven't seen, yet.

For me they're a comforting reminder of people maintaining connections and bringing joy to their lives in These Trying Times.
