Hello, yes, still alive. Checking in every day is hard when my life mostly consists of working and sleeping :-p
This week hasn't been to bad though. Actually I've been so busy I haven't had time to go running at all which is annoying. Hoping to get back into it tomorrow.
Was supposed to go to the cinema on Monday but the weather was awful. Really windy and absolutely chucking it down. My umbrella broke as soon as I opened it so just walking from the car to my house resulted in me getting soaked. So I cancelled, got into my PJs and played Dragon Age instead.
Tuesday we went to see Fantastic Beasts. It was okay. I'm not the biggest Eddie Redmayne fan, nor the biggest Harry Potter fan but I enjoyed it. I was kind of more interested in the supporting characters than the main ones though, but that's pretty normal for me :D
Wednesday I went grocery shopping. That is in no way interesting.
Thursday I went to see Arrival, which was the film I was supposed to have gone to see on Monday. LOVED IT! I'm always excited to see sci-fi movies with a female lead, but it was a really interesting and clever idea too. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Friday I was on pumpkin pie duty. For the past few years it's been a tradition for a bunch of us to get together the Saturday closest to Thanksgiving and have a feast. Mostly because we were jealous of all the nice food the Americans get to have and we wanted in on that :D Ever since I've finally been able to get cans of pumpkin locally it's been my job to provide the pie. I am honoured to fulfill this most sacred of roles.
So yesterday was our Thanksgiving and we had so much fun. There was an abundance of pie :D

And cups of hot (alcohol free) cider

But the best part is we were all given amazing festive hats to wear

Don't we all look fab :D

And SO MUCH FOOD

Afterwards, without the aid of any alcohol, we stuck some amazon playlists on and had a singalong.
This is what happened when Mr Loverman came on
And this is what happened when Total Eclipse of the Heart comes on.
Overall a good time was had by everyone and I was SO FULL afterwards. Everyone was in face. I stayed over and we were all in bed by 9:30pm. The joys of a food coma.
The day was only slightly marred by 2016 striking again as news broke that Ron Glass (Shepard Book from Firefly) had passed away. I met him back in 2007 and he was lovely. He will be missed.

This morning was pretty chilled out. Everyone loafed around in bed until late and I was visited by one of the kitties

Then Kayleigh and Natalie caught up on some of their shows while I messed around on my laptop, we had lunch and then it was time for me to head home.
Oh, and I got my first Christmas present of the year. A lovely purple notebook with a kitty on it. I shall fill it with fic at some point.

And for those who care my diet is still going well. I'm up to 23lbs lost although I imagine a weekend of stuffing my face with food probably hasn't helped, and it's the office Christmas meal on Friday. Oh well. Any weight I gain will be burned off again I'm sure. I refuse to miss out on nice holiday meals. We need things that make us happy, especially at the moment.
In fact, speaking of happy making things, my writeconuk frieds will be amused to hear I have fallen into yet another fandom. A week or so ago, after much nagging from one of my friends I sat down and binge watched an anime show called Yuri on Ice. IT IS ADORABLE! It's about a Japanese figure skater who suffers from anxiety whose idol (a Russian figure skater who has won everything ever) decides to become his coach. It's all about Yuri learning to have confidence in himself, and Victor (the coach) learning how to be a supportive mentor. They are slowly falling in love and it's beautiful. The creator has said they are bored of all the boy-meets-girl romances and wanted to do something different. Honestly, it's a charming and lovely show and the skating routines are animated so beautifully. Sometimes I forget I'm not watching real skating.
And, that's what's going on with me at the moment. What's happening with you guys?
Oh, I almost forgot (wow, this post is loooooong) I found out last week I'm having some new duties added to my role at work so I'll be getting involved a bit with the financial side of things. Mostly processing invoices, making sure they're logged on our budget database, and then sending them to the pay office to make sure they get paid. A bit scary but I've been assured by my boss's boss (who asked me to take it on) that it's pretty straight forward. We shall see...
Okay, I really am done now!
