hilsI'm slipping on the whole remembering to post on LJ thing. Must try harder!
Happy January everyone! Hope you all had a good Christmas/New Year.
I had a lovely restful time up in Scotland with lots of cuddles with my parents doggies. It was over way too quickly though.
In real life news I have (another) new job! At the start of December I was called into a meeting and told that the whole IT department was being reorganised and as part of that I was being moved into a new position that had just been created. This means I am back working for my old boss which I am totally happy about because she is lovely. It's more of an administrative than a technical position now. It's been decided that we don't have a proper process in place for making updates to the numerous applications we have so I've been tasked with writing a process and then ensuring everyone follows my process when they do any work. I think this is a good thing. A year or so ago I wrote a massive document of instructions on how to use the new ticket logging system and apparently it impressed a lot of people so they wanted me in a role that would utilise my writing skills. Not quite the sort of writing I always dreamed of being paid to do but hey I'm not going to knock it :D
In other real life news I managed to fall down the stairs last week and I may or may not have broken my toe. It's definitely bent and bruised but when I went to the GP they weren't sure as it was quite swollen. Was told there was no point going to hospital for an x-ray because nothing can be done with broken toes anyway. So I've had it strapped up and I just need to rest it. But it hurt. A lot.
Fandom news: I went to see the new Star Wars film just before Christmas. I was kind of underwhelmed for the most part aside from immediately shipping Finn and Poe. akadougal and I kind of love it now!
I also appear to have fallen in love with Oscar Isaac. Not quite sure how that happened but I'm just going with it.
