Yet more Spartacus ramblings

I wasn't sure about this in the beginning. It was okay, but it was lacking something that Blood and Sand and Gods of the Arena had. Still not sure what it was missing but I wasn't quite as invested as I'd been in the first two seasons.
But the end, though, all was good and I was back to shouting at the screen and wanting half the characters to die ;)
What I found interesting in this was the shades of grey that the characters move in, particularly to so called villains. At least one point during this season I found myself sympathising with everyone (except Ashur).
The finale was particularly excellent. Everyone got what was coming to them. I flat out cheered and flailed when Naevia took down Ashur. It really took me by surprise. I was pretty sure Ashur was going to get his at some point but not like that.
Naevia/Crixus are now my OTP. I love how he respectfully stood back and let her do her thing even though you could see he was worried she was going to get killed and he even stopped other people from getting involved so she could get the closure she needed. Loved it!
I was sad that my two favourite characters up until this point (Mira and Oenomaus) both died in the same episode :(
I'm going to be starting War of the Damned tonight. Going to be interesting to see how I get on with it. Now that all the villains from S1-2 are dead I wonder if anyone is going to capture the same hatred that I had for the others. It's not a Spartacus viewing unless you're seething and shouting DIE at the screen ;)
