Has a beacon been lit?

This journal used to be pretty much fandom only but I've got more RL stuff to talk about at the moment. My fandom involvement is pretty minimal these days due to sheer lack of time. I still mod deancasbigbang but apart from that I'm reduced to reading fic on the days when I'm not working (I'm too tired to do anything but sleep after a 12 hour shift) and reblogging stuff on Tumblr.

Trying to get back into writing but I'm struggling to get started. I think my muses are still napping after being dormant for so long.

But anyway, RL stuff again. Funny things going on. In the last two weeks two unconnected people who I haven't spoken to in 10 years suddenly got in touch out of the blue. One of them is someone I knew back in the Buffy fandom days. We used to be super-close and chat every day as well as writing fics together. She just dropped me an email saying 'I just thought of you this morning so thought I'd get in touch' and we've been emailing a bit since

Then last night a guy I worked with in my first job out of uni pinged me on Facebook just to say hi. Again we used to be super-close when we worked together. We'd go out for lunch every day and it's one of the most open friendships I have ever had. We literally told each other everything. I helped him cope when he caught his wife cheating, he was the first non-fandom person I ever showed my fic to. Before I came to terms with my asexuality I had a pretty major crush on him but honestly I think our friendship went deeper than any romantic attachment.

Anyway, it turns out he now works for a charity in the same place that I live. So we're going to go out for lunch soon. Exciting times!

Just funny how both of these things happened so close to each other. All good though.

Oh, and in fandom news it looks like shield_tv has been picked up (not that there was any real doubt) but we're still waiting for official confirmation. Once that happens I need to work out what to do with that comm.

I have same feeling with you lately so I understand you. Coz I thought also my Muses slept. I sometimes still made mini DC artworks somewhere, but I noticed lately who enjoyed RL talking at much time.
I have now full time job so....surely I'm tired so much and maybe I feel wanna do nothing.
But I really glad to saw smile of friends by RL talking than fandom staff talking now hahaha.
