So just before I went on holiday a promotion vacancy came up at work. I considered it briefly and decided that a) my technical skills weren't up to par and b) I kind of like working shifts as it gives me time to do my Random Acts work.

Didn't really think more on it but when I got back one of the guys who will be doing the interviews pulled me aside and asked me why I hadn't applied. I told him my reasons and he asked me to reconsider as he felt I'd be a good match for the role.

He's just asked me to reconsider again even though the closing date was 10 days ago and said he'd make a case for accepting a late application.

Thing is I still don't know that I want to go back to working Mon-Fri 9-5. My shift job is pretty cushty with the night shifts being quiet and allowing me time to do RA work as well as the paid stuff.

I dunno. I'm a bit worried if I don't apply it'll look like I'm not interested in progressing within the company, but if I do I'm worried I'll wind up with a job I don't really want

:-s

Don't take a job you don't want because you feel pressured. You''ll end up resenting the job and the people. Just weigh up the pros and cons, or if you know deep down you don't want it, just tell them you're happy right now and you''ll re-evaluate next time a position comes up. Be happy, that's the most important thing. ♥
