OMG SHERLOCK!
Jan. 18th, 2012 05:47 amSo, I finally watched the final episode of Sherlock
So, I settled down with some lunch and fired it up. The first bite of food made it halfway to my mouth before I stopped. Because John was sitting in a room, unable to say the words that we all knew he was trying to say, but they wouldn't come out. Seriously, Martin Freeman absolutely blew me away in that opening scene and that pretty much set the tone for the whole episode. I didn't actually end up eating much of my lunch because I was so intently focused on what was happening on the screen.
I was never really sure about Andrew Scott's Moriarty until today. HE WAS AMAZING! Insane but brilliant. The perfect foil for Sherlock. Two sides of the same coin. The scene on the roof was some of the most amazing acting I have seen. I actually felt every moment of tension.
God, and Sherlock's 'note' to John. CRYING FOREVER!
AND THE SCENE AT THE GRAVEYARD. I HAVE SO MANY ~FEELINGS.
And now I need to know how Sherlock faked his death when we all saw him jump and everyone saw his body! I'm sure Molly was involved somehow BUT I NEED TO KNOW.
Anyway, this was probably the best episode of TV I have ever seen. And I mean ever. It was almost like a movie. Perfection from beginning to end with sublime perfomances from the whole cast.
They had better win all the awards this year or there is something seriously wrong with the world.
It's almost depressing knowing that nothing I watch this year is going to be as good as this, and we're not even at the end of January yet.
