How did you come to start your LJ?

How did you find your first friends?
My first LJ friends were my RL friends. I was at a gathering of The Marauders (Me,flickums, padfoot_uk and nam_melon). The topic of LJ came up and Sarah showed me hers. Back then you needed an invite code so flickums invited me and that was that. I got one because all my friends had one ;)
Are those first friends still on your FL?
Yup, although Fin is mostly a lurker these days. I SEE YOU THERE FINNYWOOS
How long have you been on LJ?
Since November 2001 so 10 years this year
Do you have more friends or communities on your FL?
More friends. I have 562 mutual friends and 106 comms. Yeah, IDEK.
What do you like in an LJ friend?
Someone that shares common interests with me and who I can laugh with
What do you dislike?
Bigots
What would make you un-friend someone immediately?
Offensive content, deliberate wank provoking, spoilers outside a cut
Have you been caught up in a lot of LJ drama?
Some, but it's mostly been a pleasant experience
Do RL friends and family members know you have a journal on LJ?
Some do, others don't really care
Do you also have Facebook and if so, what do you prefer – LJ or FB?
I have a Facebook but really the only thing I use it for is posting photos so my mum can see them. LOL.
What about Twitter?
Yeah, I am a wee bit addicted to Twitter
Do you blog on any other sites?
I have a Tumblr but I don't really use it
How often do you check in on LJ?
Pretty much every day
What do you rarely or never post about?
I try and avoid talking about work too much just because there's a big cyber-stalking culture in my current workplace. If I do post about work I generally flock it.
Why don’t you post about that?
Well, my boss has openly told me he's read my Twitter. If he can find that he can find this too.
Have you ever thought about deleting your journal?
I don't think so
Have you ever changed your username?
Nope
Why did you choose your current username?
It's my nickname
If you’re looking for new friends, how do you find them?
Friends of friends usually, sometimes a friending meme if I'm in a new fandom, or people just find me. LOL.
Are you taking new people on to your Friends List just now?
I never say no to new friends but I'm not actively looking for people

It's fun. It's good interaction and it's a way for me to get things down so that they don't fester in my head
