How not to beta

hilsHere is a lesson on how not to beta. I won't name names. It was someone in the Merlin fandom who, mercifully, is not on my flist.
She took about two weeks to get the fic back to me, which was fine, it was longish. Well, 6k which I considered long at the time. LOL! Oh, how big bang has changed me.
Anyway, after the two weeks I got the fic back with notes to this effect
'I've corrected all your spelling and grammar. There's something not quite right with this fic, though. It's not bad, but it's not good either and I don't really know how to make it better.'
Well, that's useful.
Needless to say I didn't ask for help from that person again
