Interesting
Oct. 20th, 2005 01:48 pmWe were having a discussion about politics today and one of the older women in my office said that she found it really sad that people my age don't see politics as important. Apparently we spend all our time complaining about the state of the country but then are too lazy to do anything about it.
Now, I always vote when there is an election but these words struck a cord. I DO spend a lot of time complaining about the way things are and no, I don't do anything about it. So I decided to look into joining the local branch of the political party I support
Seems the only way I can even find out where the meetings take place is to make a donation to the party of at least £5 per month. They'll then tell you where the meetings are in your membership pack. That's quite a lot of money for me to find out that the meetings are too far for me to get to.
I do feel like maybe I should do something though so maybe I will join. I can always cancel my membership if it doesn't work out
