[livejournal.com profile] flickums, [livejournal.com profile] drbillbongo, you win. I can no longer defend Orlando after 2 hours of him failing to use more than one facial expression. You win!

To me this film was no different than Troy, only without the virtue of having lots of pretty naked men in it.

Orlando tried, he really did, but despite bulking up and growing facial hair to make him look manly he just failed to grab me at all during this. I honestly didn't care what happened to him by the end.

Yes, his character is supposed to be sad but that is no excuse for failing to have more than one facial expression.

His 'rousing speech' nearly sent me to sleep and as Jacqui pointed out, he was clearly trying to channel Aragorn (and failing miserably)

There were some good points. It was very nicely shot, very much like Gladiator. The supporting cast were excellent, with the exception of Eva Green who had NO chemistry with Orlando at all. Whose fault that is I can't really say

So, while I wasn't hacking off my own limbs through boredom, I certainly won't be rushing out to buy the DVD

But all that said, I will still ship Orli and Beanie when Viggo is busy
