Fangirl Squee!!!
Oct. 3rd, 2004 03:50 pmOMG! I had SUCH a good time!
gamiila,
calove and
roissy0 were all lovely. They all met me at the station, we dropped off my stuff and then went to the Collectormania stand to pick up out tickets for the CoRo gig. There were LOADS of cool guests as part of the con but none of them actually seemed to be there when we arrived. Nick Brendan, Danny Strong, Tom Lenk, Adam Busch, Billy Boyd, Carrie Fisher, Walter Koening, Fred and George Weasley to name but a few.
We picked up our tickets and then went to Starbucks for Caffeine. Then began the epic quest for food. EVERYWHERE in the whole of Milton Keynes seemed to be full. After wandering around for about an hour we eventually ended up getting Macdonalds to take away and ate it in our hotel room.
We got changed after that and headed for the gig. We managed to get right to the front in one corner. I had a selected view as there was a German girl in front of me and her head kept getting in the way. I DID get loads of good photos though which I will post when I get back from my parents.
OMG! For all of you who told me I would like Common Rotation you were totally right. They blew me away! Absolutely amazing and I wouldn't hesitate going to see them again. Adam and Eric's voice blend together really well and Jordan was fab on the trumpet. I can't actually tell you any of the songs they sang because I'm not really au fait with the titles yet. However, they DID do an AMAZING accoustic version of Karma Chameleon. I was so moved by it that I actually stopped taking photos for a whole five minutes! It was beautiful.
Saw Danny Strong towards the end stood at the oposite end of the stage to me. Tried to take a photo but it didn't turn out very well
So, Adam starts talking about how the band it going back home in a few days because he has to vote. I just start wondering who he's going to vote for when he announces that the next song is dedicated to George Bush
"God May Love You, But I Don't"
Hee! It got a lot of cheers from the crowd.
As the gig drew to a close Adam said they'd be in the foyer signing autographs. We headed there pretty much as soon as the gig ended. I felt a bit bad as they only merchandise they were selling were CDs at £10 each and T-Shirts. I didn't really have enough money for either of those things so I had to get the band to sign a flyer which was free :-S
gamiila and I had discussed photos while we were queuing and I said I wanted a photo with Adam if I could and she wanted one with Eric. We both got what we wanted :-)
Just after that I saw Carrie Fisher getting into a limo which was quite exciting
After having stood up for about 3 hours our feet were killing us by the end of the night. We all hobbled back to the hotel, chatted for a bit and then crashed
/fun
