Bunch of stuff
May. 31st, 2004 06:13 pmRant first: You would think NTL would let you pay your phone bill online but noooooo. You have to do it by phone, by mail or by going into the bank. Bloody stupid!
I'm starting to REALLY look forward to the Slayer Cruise. Vulkon seem to be pretty good at getting decent guests and the Tampa con last year seemed to run pretty smoothly (compared to some other nightmare con stories I've heard) so I think it's going to be a lot of fun. WHEE! 12 months to go and I've only got 6 payments left to make
I just got back from seeing The Day After Tomorrow but before I talk about that, here's a few slightly unrelated things. I am TOTALLY in love with the Orange adverts. As well as the Orange Wednesdays one which still cracks me up, we had a new one today where they want Sean Astin to make Lord of the Ringtones. It was HILARIOUS. Can you download these adverts? I want to watch them all over and over and then make icons. Hee!
Then I was telling my mum about the amusing Video Piracy warning where it basically tells you that Video Piracy is the cause of all wrong in the world. It funds The Mafia and Terrorism according to them and apparently does everything short of starting nuclear war...which I'm sure it would do given half the chance. Anyway, they showed that too so Mum-Ra could see it all by herself.
THEN we saw the only Harry Potter trailer I hadn't seen already, the one where Hermione punches Malfoy. SQUEE!!! It's look SO good. I can't wait until Friday. There were MASSIVE queues for the preview screenings today and I felt really tempted to go and see it but Mum-Ra wouldn't let me. I'll have to wait until Friday *sigh*
Anyway, now to the actual film. LOL
I quite liked it. It was very chilling (no pun intended) in parts and things like this really freak me out. Things that COULD happen. There were, however, some deeply silly parts. Did you know it was possible to outrun the cold? Me neither but both Denis Quaid and Donnie Darko (whatever the actor is called) seemed to manage to acheive this. There is also a part with a pack of wolves running amock in frozen New York which I found a little silly.
Other than that, not a bad fim.
Troy tomorrow and Harry Potter on Friday. WHEE!!!
