hilsGot this in response to my mini Buffy rant about what was happening in S7. Anyone want to comment (the person who wrote this is a friend of mine so no personal attacks please)
Just my thoughts but..
They can't be togther. They can never be togther. for one we covered this "vampire-slayer, good turns evil...evil good ect" ground with angel, so it would be lazy writing (although spike working for the big bad in this season also seems to be a but reptitive here). Two, for Buffy to love spike now would be a regression, she'd have to be pretty weak as a character (as she was through out season 6 ...which is one of the thingsthat pissed meoff).
Three this would rather trivalise Spikes attempted rape (or at the very least sexual assault). I do not think it would be wise to show two people getting togther after that!
Four, it would make no sense for spike to get want he wanted at this stage. He has a whole hell of a lot of evil to make up for and (while I am not agreat fan of the repedmists theory popular in Buffy Fandom right now)ergo much more suffering to gothrough before he deserves a reward ofany kind!
Personally, I want evil spike back. But thatsnot going to happen is it. I guess its fair to say thatI do not share your view of Spike-buffy as a healthy couple for the show or as a romantic ideal. I'd rather be single than be part of a couple that treats each other that badly!
