I just opened my itunes to add a couple of vids and EVERYTHING is gone! I mean all the stuff is on my iPod but my library is completely empty

What the hell? *cries*

Edit: I got lucky. I did a system backup yesterday morning and a restore has got all my music back. I have no idea what the hell happened there

ooh...that's...kinda freaky...

I've no idea how/why that would happen..

I mean, it's happened to my sister before (deleted library) but her stuff was still in the My Music folder.

But if all your stuff is on your ipod I suppose you could just get it off there and onto your computer?

Out of curiosity, did you recently install the iTunes 8.1 or 8.1.1 updates? Apparently iTunes is having issues with both. I updated last week, and it "damaged" my library, took away my cover art, and completely wiped out my apps. I could have cried. Stupid iTunes. :(

I'm glad your restore got all your music back. I think I'll cry if that ever happens to me. I'm really attached to my iPod, Chole, and I'd HATE to have to load everything back into iTunes again.

*grumbles* Now my email is playing tricks on me. I only just got notified of this. Installing would have gone a lot better if

1. they hadn't sprung a second job onto us (which had to be completed before the first and was fiddly enough to keep the two of us occupied for three hours)

2. they hadn't misplaced the originals of the install cds, meaning we only had one set to install off.

Not complaining though. Paid to sit there watching stuff off my mp3, playing games and going on the internet is a win either way.
