Had a very pleasant afternoon and evening with supernaturalhel. We had a bit of a Buffy session where we watched the movie and Welcome to the Hellmouth. I also watched the final episode of Alias because I really can't be arsed to watch all of season 5. Jack is still love and that's all I have to say about it really.

Doctor Who was ok. Nothing amazing. I would love to know who Michelle Ryan is fucking to keep getting parts in all these sci-fi and fantasy shows though.

Red Dwarf has totally jumped the shark and then some. I actually sent nam_melon a text of rage halfway through this part. I'm still going to watch the end but it's bloody awful.

I've not seen Doctor Who yet but really how was it? I've really lost my excitement of Doctor Who since the last one. I've just focused more on the classic episodes than the new ones. I think the last series I enjoyed all the way through was Christopher Ecclestons Doctor.

As for Red Dwarf I don't know how I feel about it. As like a jokey fun comin reliefesc episode I thought it was fun as an actual actual episode I was unhappy. Not only did it break 4th wall but it also seems to be a whole 'PLEASE KEEP US ON AIR' Which I would be happy too - if it was like the old series.

And yes, Red Dwarf is (as I said on Sarah's LJ) - bad fanfic gone worse.

Futurama did the whole 'Yay we're back on air' joke in the first 5 minutes of Bender's Big Score...is there really any need to turn it into a 3-episode joke???

Red Dwarf did feel like a Comic Relief episode, only one that wasn't funny. At all.

okies am now feeling awkward cos thought RD was bloody hilarious. They've never been much for continuity. I think I'm viewing this as a "despair squid" kind of thing. If it turns out to be real tomorrow I'll be disappointed but otherwise I think it's a great premise.

Yeah, I think RD jumped the shark early in season 7, but a lot of people liked season 8.
Dwarf lists already has it on Youtube and torrent. With appeals for buying DVD later! Apparently this was made on really low budget and unless ratings and DVD sales are up, nothing more will be done. Frankly, I think that is a good thing, and an argument for me not buying any DVDs. Never download illegally anyway, and is not starting for this.
I hate it when shows I love go down the drain like that. The excuse is apparently that fans have been clamouring for new Dwarf stuff, but that's no excuse for making crap.

I thought Michelle Ryan did fine. Was she the one from Bionic Woman. I didn't recognize her, so I probably haven't seen her before.

I enjoyed the special very much. The location is gorgeous.

I fear obtaining the Red Dwarf special. I probably will, and then I'll hate myself for it.
