Well, that was rather dull. It was over before it even started. I suppose this is the problem with airing it on a channel that has to allow for advert breaks.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Damn Craig Charles and Chris Barrie look old. Which I suppose they are.

Yeah, it was a little bit disappointing. There were a few moments which amused me a little though and I thought it got better as it went along, so lets hope the next two eps are an improvement!

I think the feature length and the lack of laughter track don't help. It wasn't as bad as I thought it might have been.

Yeah, I was surprised at how much the lack of laughter track bothered me but it was definitely weird without it

I would say that would be my biggest complaint - it feels like any other cheap production, voices don't have to feed through the atmosphere, and the guys themselves don't have a live audience to bounce off of.

I think my second complaint would be they seem out of practice with being their respective characters - but from the sound of it, they're more comfortable later.

Yeah, the adverts suck - really cuts into show time. If you watch the original series, somehow a half hour show would feel like an hour... here it felt like half an hour that moved slowly. Sounds the same, but really not.

Here's hoping for ep 2 and 3 - I grew up with Red Dwarf, in many ways it defines my sense of humour in television.

I thought the series went downhill in season 7 and what I've heard about this new series don't make me miss the fact that it probably won't be aired here at all. I'd rather fish out the old ones.
Did you guys see all the extras on the DVDs when you went through them? This is one TV series where they DVD extras get better and better, even when the show itself is going downhill. And it was the first time I've seen DVD extras more slashy than the series itself ::G::

i actually thought the special effects were too GOOD for RD! Where's our uber-cheap sets and painted cardboard boxes??? Plus what is it with making all the powerful female holograms Russian? First holoship, now this. DIE EVIL WOMAN YOU CAN NEVER TAKE RIMMER FROM US!!!
