This is such an odd show. I really can't work out whether I like it or not, and I guess that's the point. I was thinking about it the other day and it really is unlike any of Joss's other shows. The snark and wit is barely there at all and if I hadn't known it was a Joss show before watching I don't think I would have identified it as one of his. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Anyway, like last week, we have a rather clumsy tackling of an issue in today's society. Cults this time. It was ok. Eliza still not the best actress in the world by any means.

Liked the Victor/Sierra stuff though and I'm hoping more will be done with that later

I think the problem is that the network wants more sex, violence and the like and that's just not Joss. But he's appeasing them so he doesn't get his series cancelled like Firefly. (An amazing show, by the way.)

But it's supposed to get more Joss-esque soon so I'm sticking with it. Plus, Tahmoh is awesome.

Eliza isn't the best actress but the show was half her idea so I suppose that's why she's the lead. She was great as Faith though so maybe with more Joss she'll improve.

This episode confused me! The last couple had been very fast paced and well written, and then it just slowed right down with a change in tone.

I just felt like they weren't completely invested in this one. IDK. I suppose Joss is trying to please the mainstream as well as his more old school fans, and the two isn't meshing as well as they might.

Yeah, it definitely felt a bit off

The point wasn't really to "tackle" the issue of Cults in Today's Society.
