Glastonbury picspam #1
Mar. 7th, 2009 03:14 pmI think if I posted all my photos in one post LJ would explode. LOL! So here we have the photos of my hotel room, the King Arthur pub and Glastonbury Abbey. Hope you like them!

My hotel room. It's nice. Bit noisy as I'm above a pub beer garden but not a major issue

The desk where I am posting from right now

The yummy Ploughmans I had for dinner last night. Well, I opted not to eat the pickled egg but the rest was nice

King Arthur pub

This is where I probably sound mental but what the hell. I was walking along the laid out footpath when all of a sudden I had this very strong feeling and said out loud to myself 'get off the beaten track' so I did and found myself here. Would have been wandering for ages otherwise

The main purpose of my trip

You can see the tor in the distance

The entry at the top made me laugh. I bet that's what Bradley's handwriting looks like ;)

Date: 2009-03-07 04:22 pm (UTC)Very nice pictures, though. Looks amazing. I've always loved visiting old buildings and ruins, and I bet that place would be incredible to visit.

Date: 2009-03-07 04:59 pm (UTC)About the following your intuition thing...the first time I was there we were doing the audio tour they had available and I went up into the remains of church and started going across a walkway as I was listening; about halfway across my knees kinda went wobbly so I stopped and looked out through the remains of the Abbey (which, when it was being used, must have been astounding) and tried to steady myself. I looked down at the plaque in front of me and it said there'd been a church of some sort on that site since 63 A.D.. There's been a place of worship there for almost 2000 years! The energy left there is amazing after all that time...

Date: 2009-03-07 05:18 pm (UTC)I don't remember having any odd feelings at Glastonbury, but, on a Highlander note, when I visited Culloden it had the most unsettling vibe about it. I don't think I've ever had such a visceral reaction to a place before or since.

Intuition..such a wonderful thing. You don't sound mental. If that's mental, then I am too. :D

Date: 2009-03-09 05:37 pm (UTC)Your hotel room looks great! I hope I'll have a room like that when I'm visiting Liverpool next month! ;)
The Ploughmans looks quite like the usual "tea" in Germany - except we don't get what's behind that pickled egg. Is that an onion? It looks like an eyeball. XDD And what is that brown stuff next to the ham?
Did you have a drink at the King Arthur pub? :D
LOVE the photos of the grave and the ruins! You had excellent weather, didn't you? Lucky you! The site looks fantastic - that's definitely one place I'd like to visit before I die! :D
And LOL @ that first entry in the guestbook! XDDD

Date: 2009-03-09 05:44 pm (UTC)Yeah, that's pickled onion behind the egg and the brown stuff is chutney
No, I didn't drink in the King Arthur pub. I was going to but there were lots of people hanging around outside and it didn't look like the safest place.
I definitely recommend Glastonbury if you're ever back in the UK (after Liverpool I mean)

Date: 2009-03-09 07:40 pm (UTC)I *was* going to say the first one of the hotel room, but that'd be entirely too easy ;) I'm not wasting an opportunity like this on smut.
I pick glasto22.jpg, of course, the one with the tor in the distance. It's such a gorgeous pic. And I can see Merlin going all sorcerery with that big big energy focal point tor thing. *bounce*
THANKEE!!
