I'm really struggling to get this Northern Merlin Meetup off the ground :(

I've had a number of people under the age of 18 ask to come, which is fine. I found a family friendly bar for us to go to. However, I then learned that they will not serve alcohol to any group that has under 18s in it. I totally understand why of course but now I have to decide whether to make it an alcohol free meet or an over 18s only meet. Did a poll and it came back as a tie which means I have to make the decision

On the one hand I'd really like to have it all-inclusive but on the other hand I don't want people to be bored or unhappy because they can't drink.

Gah!

I'd come but I feel a bit meh as I don't really know anyone well :s

Does this place serve food? I don't think there's a problem with alcohol being served to under 18s as long as they're having a meal as well (though it's a long time since I worked in a bar so I could be wrong)

Yeah, you can have one drink if you order it with food. That might be the direction to take

You should come though! I don't know anyone who's coming either. That's sort of the point :)

It would only take me 20 minutes on the train so yeah, count me in :) Now I just have to talk husband into picking me up from the station...
