Merlin stuff
Dec. 15th, 2008 08:21 pmMaybe I'm getting the hang of writing Merlin/Arthur now. My latest
merlinadvent fic is back from beta with just a few minor grammar changes. WHEE! Considering how many alterations I had to make to my
merlin_the_elf fic, which is a similar length, I consider this a victory!
I have a question now that the series is over

Date: 2008-12-15 11:31 pm (UTC)"...despite the cardboard castle set, Merlin has gradually worked a spell on me, mainly because newcomer Colin Morgan lends a decidedly offbeat presence to the title role, his spats with Bradley James as a boy racer Prince Arthur forever hovering on the edge of homoeroticism. At times it's felt like Brokeback Mountain with jousting sticks. But that's probably just me."
From the 'Weekend's TV Review' section in the Metro. General response from everyone who's seen the quote is "IT'S NOT JUST YOU!!" ;)

Date: 2009-02-07 03:13 am (UTC)Hello... quiet lurker here. I had to vote for the goblet-choosing scene (and requisite 'Princess Bride' references).
I love that you Britpick American writers' fics. I salute you!
(And I just spotted that you have a 'Stratford upon Avon' tag. That's basically my hometown :D Are you a Shakespeare fan too?)

Date: 2009-02-07 12:24 pm (UTC)Oh, I am a huge Shakespeare fan. My trip to Stratford was like a pilgramage for me. Hee! It's such a beautiful place and I am very envious of you living there

Date: 2009-02-07 01:31 pm (UTC)Oh SHAKESPEARE. (My mother gave me the RSC version of the Complete Works for Christmas. *grabbyhands*)
I take it you went to Hamlet, then?
...The first time I saw it, I couldn't speak for about two hours afterwards, I was so mindblown...
