[livejournal.com profile] jacqui_hw and I have started working through all our Christmas films. Last night we watched Miracle on 34th Street (which I love) and tonight we watched The Santa Clause (which I loved desite the whiny child)

What's your favourite Christmas film?

And on that note I am having the early night I very much need

Die Hard?

Die Hard is a Christmas film!...sort of...

Ahem.

I don't know why but I liked The Polar Express despite the shmaltz and that most people hate Tom Hanks.

And obviously there's The Nightmare Before Christmas :)

Has to be 'It's a Wonderful Life' just has to be, for me. I've always loved it since I first saw it.

(and for the zany part of me, it also has to be 'A Nightmare Before Christmas' but that's partly down to my Tim Burton love.)

Muppet Christmas Carol, probably.

Although 'A Christmas Story' has a special place in my heart, especially considering quite a lot of it was filmed in my neighborhood. A lot of people hate it, but I think that's because it's overplayed. (A station over here plays it for 24 hours straight on Christmas.)

We used to watch it every year at uni as the late night picture in our local cinema, so it has extra sentimental fluffy sparkly xmas value to me. ;)

My family watches it every year when we're setting up the Christmas tree. Drives my dad insane when me, my mom, and my sister are all singing along.

I love A Christmas Story. I have to watch it whenever it's on. The Bumpus Hounds and the Leg Lamp are just so classic!

Also love the Grinch. Animated and Jim Carrey! :)

Funny, I mentioned Polar Express to Jacqui last night. I love it in spite of my loathing for Tom Hanks

A Christmas Story, Muppet Christmas Carol and, how could I forget, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!

Not so much of a Christmas movie, but Mr Rune and I love watching it at this time of year ... or would if we could get a copy on DVD rather than VHS - its called 'Driving me Crazy' in the UK and 'Dutch' in the USA, and stars Ed O'Neil from Married With Children - an awesome movie. If anyone knows where I could acquire a copy I'd be very grateful :)

Oh! A Christmas film marathon? That sounds like an awesome idea! :D

My favourite Christmas films are:
- Love Actually
- Trading Places
- Santa Claus (that very old one about the toy factory that gets modernised)
- The Grinch

I suck at making decisions, apparently.

And now I want to watch them all. :D
