They killed Adam! Wah! And here I was hoping for lots more flirting between him and Hiro :(
Sylar appears to be getting more hot with each new episode. Maybe his hotness is realtive to his path to redemption. LOL!
Peter has no powers now. Hah! Guess that makes Sylar the hope for the future. LOL!
I think we might finally be seeing a turnaround for Hiro. I'm hoping this sees the start of him being cool again. Loved him referencing Mr Isaac and now I'm thinking about Merlin again
I still only faintly know what's going on. WHEE!!!

Date: 2008-10-22 06:37 pm (UTC)Sad to say goodbye (apparently - this is 'Heroes' after all) to David Anders, but it was a great twist.
My only complaint - where the hell is Elle? I need my Kristen Bell fix!

Date: 2008-10-22 09:15 pm (UTC)Thing is, all he has to do is dig down deep and realise, when daddy took his powers, he was using his powers too. Chances are Peter took his dad's right back.
Of course it does mean that Peter is free of Sylar's curse - but it also means Arthur now has it. He doesn't know what he's taken. Maybe that's why Future Peter told past Peter to get Sylar's power. He knew what was coming, and the only way to get to Daddy dearest (now he's immortal), was to con him into taking one power too many.
It's really quite cool how this is all penning out. We now know why Peter and Nathan's powers are very different, Nathan's aren't natural born powers. Sylar and Peter have similar powers (though with fundamentally different mechanisms (though someone pointed out to me, Peter's power is kind of a silent rape. He takes something very personal from someone, and flaunts it - but no one complains). We now know that Daddy has a similar power too. He kind of combines elements of both, and adds in an extra to boot.
I was shocked when he killed Adam, I thought it was a dream sequence, I had no idea it was real, (well TV real, in case anyone takes me literally), until it cut to the next scene.
It seems a pansy way to kill an immortal - then again, it's introduced the power of the big bad. Can he kill everyone like that? Or is it the effect of taking the immortal power from someone who's lived well beyond his standard 802100? It didn't happen to Peter afterall, and he's immortal. Then again, his gene's mimic the immortal gene - so that could be part of it.
Hiro, Hiro was good. We knew he'd pulled some trick to make it appear like Ando had been killed - but I must admit, my ideas were far moer convulated. I had him reversing Ando in time, to undo the stabbing - and twisting my head round how that would work. However, it was and simple, yet smart. Very becomming of a Superhero.
I have to say, watching this episode, for the first time I felt like we were seeing a comic book superhero, there was actually a moment of feeling there. Fleeting though it was. Tracy, when she froze the chttp://hils.livejournal.com/3186036.html#cutid1uffs and freed herself, the look of the shot, the look on her face it all actually screamed this could be X-Men, or Spiderman, or Wonderwoman, or whatever.
I'm struggling to get a read on Mohinder, I mean has he gone over to the darkside? He's a good guy to the core, but like Sylar, he's got this thing inside him driving him. I just don't know to what end. We don't know if he's feeding off his victims, killing them (albeit slowly), or if his mutation has driven him to extreme science. We know in the future, he's in some kind of humanoid mutant form, and he's self aware enough not to attack Peter, but instead warn him to leave - which suggest he can control it to a degree (I say a degree because he can never leave Isaac's apartment, he'd be a freak in a world where Superfreak is obviously the way to be).
Will the future change? Well it already is. Mohinder needs to make that connection with Pinehearst to find his cure I feel. He needs that formula. Everyone else needs to keep away.
I was so hoping Matt would read Daphne's mind, and work out that Linderman was A) defiantly dead, and B) that his father was pulling the strings.
This does bring one thing to mind though. When Linderman first showed up again, we only saw him with Nathan. I naturally thought it was a centralised phenomenon, that when Linderman was around Nathan, using his healing power, he managed to implant himself in Nathan's mind with a little parcel of healing. Hence Nathan surviving Future Peter's assassination attempt. But - if Linderman is nothing more than a fantasy - how did Nathan recover from two fatal gun shot wounds?

Date: 2008-10-22 09:16 pm (UTC)Of course this does raise an interesting matter again, if Arthur Petrelli killing Adam. Then again, it doesn't have to be on the father's side - it could be from Angela's.
They're raising some fabulous stuff here - that unfortunately could easily turn in to major continuity errors, or massive plot flaws - but they're also dealing with others. They explained where Peter got his dream ability from - though thinking back, I often took some of it as time travel - like when he visited Charles - he actually was having dreams before that. They're just easy to forget. But, getting the power from Angela was a stroke of genius - whether it was intentioned from the start or not - it closed a minor, and unimportant point while building on the future. I don't like niggling issues not being closed - so more of that please.
Speaking of things to be closed off. We've yet to find out who the third of the triplet is. She's definately being kept in the wings, you wouldn't keep making a big deal out of the triplet's angle, if you didn't plan on introducing her later. Though, part of me does wonder about Meredith? Do all three triplets have to be identical? It'd be just like Linderman to push Nathan towards a fellow made (as opposed to born mutant), even as he pushed Niki to be with a natural (well I'm guessing D.L. is natural given his family's heritage)).
*phew* I could write so much more... but I'll save some for next week, as it'll probably be a slow week for Heroes.

Date: 2008-10-22 09:31 pm (UTC)I thought that was what was going to happen!
Also *facepalm* I totally didn't realise the guy making people see Linderman was Matt's dad. I am so dumb
how did Nathan recover from two fatal gun shot wounds?
I assumed it was because of the blood transfusion that healed his burns in the last season

Date: 2008-10-22 09:49 pm (UTC)I wasn't sure when he first popped up again, but tonight confirmed it for me. I kind of assumed he was dead, or locked in the coma that Matt gave him when they had their mind whammy dream battle in series two.
I assumed it was because of the blood transfusion that healed his burns in the last season
This would raise a few questions, like "How long has it been since that happened?" and "Once healed, permanent healing?" I mean does the reception of blood from an immortal make you immortal? Blood itself only exists in the body for about three months, before it's broken down and recycled, or jettisoned along with other waste in the body (through the lungs/breathing, excrement, urine, sweat, etc... etc...), it's the only organ in your body that is in constant regenesis other than skin. The liver only partly regenerates over a much longer period (though I read somewhere you go through three complete livers in your life time - but bit by bit). If it were a case of just recieving the blood of a healer, then you wouldn't need the formula to give people powers, you could just start milking the immortals, and make everyone else immortal. Who needs other powers? The sheer randomness of powers being generated from blood dictates, inherent danger, immortality/healing is nice and stable (though it's psychological effects upon on the unready are profound and long lasting as we've seen with Adam and future Claire).
Of course it's healing blood, so it could be immune from the three month cycle and instead constantly regenerate within the host body. This in it's own way would lead for some people to have a miserable life - if it's the wrong blood type then for the rest of your life, your immune system would be attacking the foreign blood over and over again. The blood would keep regenerating, and repairing the damage caused by auto-immune disease, and the damage to the immune system, while the immune system continues to attack.
Which is another possible genetic link, (albeit loose one), between Adam and the Petrelli's, Adam must surely have been a compatible blood type with Nathan for the healing to work.
Healing also blows Mohinder's theories out of the water. Healing isn't always caused by adrenalin. Nathan's adrenalin would have been low when Adam gave him his blood. Also Adam, up until he met Arthur again, didn't really feel fear. The knowledge that nothing can harm you would mean flight or fight doesn't kick in, and you'd get hurt and not heal. If you hit someone repeatedly, they stop feeling the hit, the mind ignores it - even though their sensory system works fine, and can feel touch.
Sorry for bringing science into this.

Date: 2008-10-22 09:57 pm (UTC)And they totally killed me along with Adam. I love Adam. If anyone needs be one of identical triplets with superpowers, it's Adam.
I wonder how long Peter will go without powers. I can't wait for him to kick his father's ass.
And for that little bit working together -ness that started when Sylar woke up Peter and ended with Peter kicking Sylar's ass, I loved it. I want them working together more.
