I think the plot surrounding Cameron was unnecessary - and that annoyed me. They're trying to establish a reason for future John trusting a a robot other than one in the appearance of the original Terminator. It's not neccessary - but it leaves them open to suggest that future John (master tactician, dedicated leader, and pragmatist), could fall in love have feelings for Cameron, even while knowing the original, his friend, was killed to create the robot.

The idea is blatantly to excuse Now John's growing feelings for Cameron, and vice versa. However, it would have been better for Now John's feeling to be a fresh retake of history - rather than a echo from the future.

The stuff with the neighbour, now that was good - it's a shift away from "All About John", which is what this show naturally does - despite the title of the show being "The Sarah Connor Chronicles", it's only that in so far as she's there.
