Doctor Who
Jun. 29th, 2008 12:18 amI'm popping on just to say this
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*breathes*
OMG!
I don't think an episode of Doctor Who has ever made me this gleeful and excited before. This tops Utopia (but not Blink)! Talk about an uber-crossover!
And Davros! I got excited to see him, even though I barely know who he is. LOL!
I actually think the only think that let this down was the Harriet Jones joke which just felt out of place and a bit silly.
The rest of it was awesome!
Apart from Rose, although I did LOL at her feeling all left out of the party.
All I have left to do is this
*regeneration!flail*
I so did not see that coming. I thought they were going to kill Rose! Now, I have heard NOTHING about David Tennant leaving so either they're keeping this well under wraps or there's going to be an odd twist in the next episode
jacqui_hw pointed out that Donna heard drums just before she was offered the water at The Shadow Proclamation. Could she be another hidden timelord like The Master.
OMG! I can't wait until next week!

We were making jokes about Donna being The Rani at Orbital...

Date: 2008-06-28 11:39 pm (UTC)The companions despair just seemed so out of place as did the Doctor's. The Daleks have been defeated so often before, that they just don't seem that big a threat to me.
I felt it was a bit like having all the potentials at the end of Buffy, too many characters and no time for characterization.
I did enjoy the interplay between the characters once they got going, but not enough to make up for the smaller amount of time with the Doctor and Donna.
The effects were great, but I felt like I watching something beside Dr Who.
Bah. Humbug. Grump. grump. grump.
I'll cry if we lose David. But I think we won't. I think Donna will save the day somehow. We still references to something on her back, and hints about names meaning something that haven't been explored.
I can't wait til next week either!

Date: 2008-06-29 12:14 am (UTC)But then neither did Dr Who, until a few weeks ago, even though I've been watching it all along. Not sure why it suddenly clicked into high gear. Who can explain the fan brain?

Date: 2008-07-02 03:35 pm (UTC)Holy. Crap.
Although - RTD does like to reset time (Martha's year that never was...)
I missed the drums in the Donna scene but will go back and look tonight.
I loved that Rose felt left out but hated how whiney she was about it.
Ah Ianto - still made of win!
I still need to watch the Sarah Jane Adventures - I think I missed a few things there having not seen it.
Loved the crossovers and interaction between everyone - that rocked. But I do agree with what someone else said - a little too much emotion and giving up before they had even tried anything.
And no. David can't go away and regenerate into someone else. I won't have it - so there! (And we all know I'm just so all powerful) *snark*
Is it Saturday yet?
