I'm on a roll today. Got my work book finished too.

Birthright was brilliant!!! Apart from the intro by AlMiles where they took credit for it all. LOL! I definitely recommend it if you're a Superman fan

Well, Smallville was inspired by the Superman comics. I don't remember the exact issues, but the idea of Lex and Clark being friends had already been done in the comics a long time ago. They are so pompous.

Just took another look at Birthright, and AlMiles are so full of shit! Smallville was inspired by Birthright, not the other way around! If you have the special "Look, Up in the Sky, the Amazing Story of Superman," they even say that!

Wankers. I liked the storyline of Birthright, but I didn't like that Martha and Jon knew Lex was abused and needed help, but they didn't care.

Yeah, I wasn't keen on Jon and Martha in this. I loved Lois though, and Jimmy was awesome!

been meaning to ask you...

how WAS Last Days of Krypton? i mean, enlightening cultural stuff, anything like that? I was always interested in reading the book...till i saw who wrote it. I've been putting it off since, because since his early post-StarWars days i have issues with Kevin J. Anderson's work. I don't know what exactly it is about his writing style that can rub me the wrong way; if it's a question of oversimplifying character motivations or something about things just being too...one-dimensional--but sometimes he really seems to flatten out/butcher a fandom. IMO, he can be basically a published badfic writer, or can be a goodfic writer on occasion; but in general in my experience he's more of an average writer who managed to somehow get his fanfic published, and it makes me mad when i know there're so many better ficwriters out there.

But i digress. I'd like the straightforward and honest opinion of someone who's tastes i admire and trust before i'm going to subject myself to another one of his ventures into my fandoms. His quality tends to dip below what i want more than it adds to my personal pantheons, and I'm tired of having my fandoms flattened by him. But if this is one of his better efforts (and again, he does have his moments), then it'll be worth it. And i really wanted to read this.

part of me wanted to read this till i read this comment of yours, and now i really dunno. I mean, i don't think i could stand yet ANOTHER story where M&J leave Lex to be abused like that. I just..c.an't.

and yet you say it is awesome.
WTF *is* it with this trope of J&M?!

Oh, I definitely agree with what you're saying. Overall the story was good but I definitely had some issues with his writing style and characterisations

Here is my review of it if you're interested
