I was amused yesterday that one of the things I was complimented on was my gear changing because liteally right up until my last lesson with my old instructor I sucked at it. I always added the gas too late so it jerked when I changed gear

I have just changed from a diesel to a petrol car. Would that make a difference to the smoothness of gear changes?

I've never driven a diesel manual, now I totally want to know if its different.
I've driven diesel automatic, but it was the gigantic truck sort of diesel. My guess is, its easier to get the gas in *faster* with petrol, in my experience they're more responsive like that. (I totally wish I could have diesel in my Jeep :( )

Yeah, I think it would... I've driven both diesel and petrol and the gas powered cars usually had smoother gear shifts...

The petrol car is definitely more sensitive
