DAMN YOU SMALLVILLE!!!

This was all kinds of awesome! It was tense, and dramatic, and exciting. It had Lois being a great undercover reporter, it had a beautiful end scene that tugged on my heart strings even though it was Clana, IT HAD CONTINUITY!!!!!

And ZOMG! My fic is canon!!! Lex is getting his memories back as result of his healing after he got shot. Oh PLEASE let him remember at least snippets of Shattered/Asylum.

GAH!!!

I am so glad you liked it! I've been wondering how long-time viewers would feel about it and most of the reviews I've read are positive. I loved the little Lois/Jimmy bit. But I HATED the present day Lionel.

And yes there was definitely a BIG SPOILERY PREVIEW after the ep that I am not saying anything about!

Yeah, I did cut-tags on my "Veritas" comments clearly labeled as SPOILERS beyond. So...don't look, Ethel! Not till after the next ep, at least. Then go back and read. :)

I have to agree with the person who thought there was too much WRONG with the ep and not enough RIGHT. It played well into one of MY fics, too -- right down to Lionel putting a tie on Lex before going to Smallville (but NOT a freakin' CLIP ON! I went ballistic over that little detail, because it was just too CHEAP for a LUTHOR!) and how Lionel was in Smallville that particular day for entirely different reasons (and why he also had a hand in Clark's adoption papers). I do have a problem with Lex being excited about the trip. After being smacked around and cringing in Lionel's pressence, you'd think he'd be reluctant to be ANYWHERE with the guy. Are they saying Lex developed his fear of flying on that trip? I don't buy it, sorry. Also, I'm STILL unhappy that Lex had Patricia killed. She posed NO THREAT to him. He probably could've ASKED for the locket and, being that she shared his distrust/dislike of Lionel, she might've readily agreed (if she didn't...well, okay, THEN cap her!).

Otherwise, I'm equally thrilled at Lex getting his memories back and can't WAIT till he hits the "You're not even human" sense-o-wonder about Clark and Morgan Edge's car. But knowing how they like to change this show from one week to the next (I give you Clark believing Lex still has good in him to believing ALL Luthors are a lost cause)...I wouldn't bet on it.

Yeah, I think that last Lex/Lionel flashback was the only thing I had issue with, for the reasons you just mentioned.

Lex having Patricia killed I didn't like or understand but I said that in my review last week

It seems to be the way that I like the episodes the rest of fandom doesn and vice versa. Still hate Fracture. LOL!

Except originally when Lex went to SV his mom forced him to, and he didn't want to go. They totally changed that so to me the continuity was not good. Plus if Lionel really has known about Clark all this time, why was he so surprised when he switched bodies with Clark at what Clark can do? hmmm.

Personally I found all the Lois stuff boring, but I admit the Lana thing was sad. I wouldn't wish that on my worse enemy.

Do you know why Lionel is freaking out? How could he know what the 'terrible' thing that's going to happen, when he only had one of the two keys?
