I haven't seen Ashes to Ashes yet, but it looks good. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Moonlight. It isn't like Angel, except for the fact that Mick and Angel are vampires that are investigator types. The buddy part between Josef and Mick is wonderful. I know you will love it on more than one front.

I have heard good things about Dexter, but it isn't to my liking.

I was wary about Ashes to Ashes because I loved Life on Mars and I thought it might ruin it. It does sound funny though

My parents are watching Dexter so I know what it's about. I just don't trust my dad's opinion ;)

Moonlight is OK. But some of the scripts are v. dumb. The two leads are quite appealing. And if you are into the vampire schtic, then it is the best thing going these days.

I LOVE Dexter. But be warned that it can be quite horrific. There are parts I have to either watch through my fingers or turn away from. But the scriptwriters and actor have handled the character v. cleverly. His thing is he only kills people who deserve it. A really, really sick vigilante. If he were Superman or Batman you'd totally be on his side.

The most recent season the police were closing in on him, and you didn't know whose side to be on... Cause, you know, Dexter is a bad guy. And the police are the good guys. But you like Dexter, and you're kind of rooting for him. It was totally awesome!

Haven't seen Ashes to Ashes, in part because it's not over here yet.

I enjoy Ashes to Ashes, but I'm not addicted.

If you can only choose one, choose Dexter.

Haven't watched 'Ashes to Ashes' myself, but I've heard good things. 'Moonlight' is better than it looks - sometimes the writing is poor, but the acting's pretty decent, the take on vampire mythology is really interesting, and Alex O'Laughlin is gorgeous and charming.

I hate to differ with so many comments already, but Moonlight is crap. Watch the original it is available on DVD, and was MUCH better. Truly.

And Dexter, a friend and I were discussing it, and its just...dull. it shouldn't be, but it is. And I had issues as Dexter is supposedly a blood spatter expert, but I don't know where they get their ideas...they are WRONG!!! sigh.

I don't know anything about Ashes to Ashes tho...

I know we haven't talked in ages but I was catching up on LJ and you're still on my FL. :D

I made it thru the 1st ep of Moonlight and a few minutes of the second before my mind wandered and so did my remote. I was completely turned off that in that verse, vampires have an inherent psychic thing going on. Seeing as how he's a detective sort, that must come in very handy, but really? Very cheesy. ...unless it's Drusilla and she was special.

Dexter on the other is one of my favorite shows. I've been relishing most of Showtime for awhile and Dex is one of the best. Michael C Hall is PERFECT in that role, dry, sardonic and more than a little twisted. It took til the 2nd or 3rd ep to be truly hooked but it is worth the time. Plus, Julie Benz.

And since I'm such a Showtime ho, I will also plug:

Weeds(hysterically funny + JDM cameos)

The Tudors(not so much for the historical, but because it's pretty - people and cinematography, plus Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Henry Cavill, both frequently nekkid)

I love the Dexter books, and while I've heard conflicting opinions on the show it has Julie Benz in it.... :D

I've not heard of Ashes to Ashes.
But the other two are on my TiVo list and not to be missed.

I love Moonlight although I have a penchant for Vampires and Vampires stories. And Alex O'Loughlin is gorgeous!

Dexter is one of those shows that took me by surprise. You should get the unedited version. I see Season 1 is now replaying on network TV. Once you're hooked it's really a great show and Michaael C Hall is brilliant and believable!

Haven't seen Dexter nor Ashes to Ashes but I watch Moonlight and can recommend it. It's fun (though it's not quite as good as Blood Ties *grins*).

Yeah, I wasn't keen on the Blood Ties book so I avoided the show

I absolutely LOVE Dexter. I love the show and I love the character and I love the actor playing the character...I love the storylines...I love it all. I agree with whoever said to get the original, unedited episodes. You don't want to watch the edited crap.

I'm surprised that anyone would find it boring! But everyone has their own tastes.

Oh God, I cannot STAND Ashes to Ashes. The dialogue just.... oh man, it's terrible. I've never seen so many supposed jokes fall flat in one episode of television before.

Having said that, I wasn't a fan of Life on Mars either, so maybe my dislike has carried over.

It wasn't until I saw her on Supernatural that I realized how goo-looking she is...and she was one of the main reasons why I agreed to go and see Rambo... *g*

They're showing Angel on Swedish TV again, season 5...so she's just in one ep this season, isn't she?

Angel & Spike go to Italy to check on Buffy, and take a trip down memory lane in the process.
