£150 for a return train ticket to Milton Keynes??!!
Jesus! Do I look like I can afford that?
Hint: The answer is no
And they wonder why no one uses public transport
Edit: Gah! Ok, the cheaptest single on qjump which is where I was looking was £85. Now that the national rail site is working they have cheap tickets for £40. MUCH better. Now I just have to hope they're still available next week
Cross your fingers for me flist!

Date: 2008-03-10 08:09 pm (UTC)I think that every time I get a bus or a train.
For some reason it seems to be getting more and more difficult to get to MK. The first time I went, in 2005, I got a return from Liverpool for £22. The next time it was £40. Then it was £45 to go from Manchester, which was stupid coz when we went from Liverpool we had to go via Manchester. I was looking last week to see if I can go in May for my birthday and there was no direct train, it would take over 4 hours with 3 changes, and it would cost over £50 each way. We're probably gonna have to get up ridiculously early (since we're poor students so can only afford to go for 1 day) and get the coach there to be able to afford it
