Romantic moments

jacqui_hw has tasked me to list my top 10 romantic moments from TV. This is hard because these days I am mostly about the slash and slash pairings don't really have romantic moments (unless it's Torchwood). Maybe I'm misunderstanding what a romantic moment is.

But I am not one to turn away from a challenge so here goes. If you want to offer suggestions I reserve the right to amend this list until I'm happy with it.

Edit: Apparently I can include heart breaking moments. That makes this MUCH easier

1. BtVS - Spike tells Buffy that she's the one in Touched
2. Frasier - The balcony scene with Niles and Daphne in Something Borrowed, Someone Blue
3. Torchwood - Ianto kisses Jack in To The Last Man
4. Smallville - Clark, broken by guilt at failing to save Lex, is hugged by him in Asylum
5. Lost - Sawyer holds Kate as she cries after the death of Libby
6. Battlestar Galactica - Apollo greets Starbuck with a kiss
7. Alias - Sydney gives Vaughn a drawer
8. Desperate Housewives - Susan arranges a surprise wedding for Mike
9. Angel - Buffy finds out she's about to lose the day she had with human Angel
10. Babylon 5 - Marcus says his farewell to Susan and her reaction when she wakes up and finds him

See, I would say most of them were romantic - heartbreaking or not. The list that "inspired" me was all "wedding" "first date" and I thought, I don't find those things romantic.

For example, my most romantic Tim/Dawn moment from The Office is not her going back to kiss him at the Christmas Party. It's him deciding to tell her he loves her before she leaves and taking his mic off, leaving the interview and pulling her into a room just to finally do it before she leaves.

The most romantic moments for me sometimes are heartbreaking, but that's all part of it. I wouldn't say "romance" is particularly romantic, if that makes any sort of sense. Flowers and chocolates and first dates don't tug at your heart strings.
