I always keep a paper journal when I'm away so I don't forget any of the stuff that I did. I'm going to type it up a day or two at a time and embed any photos that relate to those days into the post
Yes, I am anal about this stuff. LOL.
Here we go
Friday 4th January
Aside from my plane from Houston to El Paso being delayed by an hour it's been a surprisingly relaxing day. I'm knackered after being awake for 24 hours but it's ok.
The day did get off to a bad start when I got a paper cut while I was packing. This was after I woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. Other than that all my worries were unecessary. I was worried about the hassle of taking my laptop through security but all I had to do was take it out of the bag so they could scan it seperately. There was no queue and the guy checking the stuff was friendly.
US immigration was amazingly straightforward. The guy only asked me how long I would be staying and we spent the rest of the time talking about my hair and his kids. It was such a relief! I couldn't have asked for a less painful experience, really.
I crashed on the plane to El Paso but only dozed.
lexalicious70 met me and there was much bouncing and squeeing. She gave me a tour of El Paso by night as we drove to her house *g*
We jumped straight into the Rosenbaum and watched a JLA episode while we ate dinner. Amusingly it was an episode where Flash (voiced by Michael) swaps bodies with Lex. I loved it.
Lexi's daughter, Michaela, is a cutie. She showed me all her toys and drew pictures for me. Lexi's little dog likes to follow me around and demands cuddles whenever I sit down. I'm not sure I'm going to be allowed to leave. LOL!

My hotel room in London

Lexi's dog. Offically named Lucky Lady but mostly called Lucky. I renamed her Woobie Dog because she was always crying for cuddles and attention. LOL

She loved to lick my hands, which made using the computer difficult sometimes. LOL!
Saturday 5th January
I woke up quite early considering how much I didn't sleep yesterday. We had quite a relaxing morning. I played with the kids and the dog, had breakfast and then we headed out for lunch and shopping.
We went to Famous Dave's, a BBQ restaurant and I had brisket after
pepperjackcandy recommended it. I can see why! It's this beautifully tender beef. Absolutely delicious! I had it on a baked potato with sour cream and cheese. I also had a corn muffin which was divine!
After lunch we headed to an outlet mall and I was amused that there was shop called Izod. This, in turn, reminded me of my arrival in the US. I had Terrence Stamp in my head saying 'So, this is Planet Houston.' Yes, I am a geek.
We looked around a few shops and I was sad that they didn't have anything in Hot Topic that I wanted.
Next we went to the comic book store and I bought a Superman book. No idea if it's going to be any good or nor but it was less than $5 so it doesn't overly matter. I had a lovely Strawberries and Cream Frappacino in Starbucks and I took some pictures of the mountains before we came home and watched the Smallville bloopers. OMG I love Tom so much. I've never really seen him out of character before and he's adoreable. The bloopers with him and Michael together were especially great.
Lexi gave me a surprise present! T-shirts! I love them! She spoils me so much.
We had this funny conversation in the car where she was describing this fic to me and I looked at her and said 'Dude, I wrote that.' We laughed a lot.
After dinner we watched Rave Macbeth. It was...odd. Michael looked pretty though and I loved his hair. Meg from Supernatural was his girlfriend which amused me. It was very prettily filmed, weirdness aside. I'd love to make some icons of it.
