A quick review

Rave Macbeth was kind of weird, but Michael looked hot. I loved his hair and the gratuitous shirtlessness.

Nice quiet day today. The whole family and I went out for breakfast and then we went up into the mountains where I took some incredible photos of the view. After that we went to Wal-Mart where I bought Animal Crackers (alas, no monkies so I can't mock you with my monkey pants) and Captain Crunch (always open, folks)

This afternoon we just chilled out and swapped music and vids. I played some Sims and we watched TV.

I'm suffering from jet lag quite badly this trip, which is weird as I don't normally get it. I'm waking up really early and feeling ready to crash at about 8pm. LOL

Sweeny Todd tomorow. WHEE!

You HAVE to tell us how Sweeny Todd is. None of the theaters here have gotten it and I so want to go!

Oh my gosh, you a re going to LOVE 'Sweeney Todd'!!!!

I saw it a couple of days ago and it was very well done. The credits in the beggining were even interesting. There were a couple of times I looked over at my Sis and had to laugh cause, well, we have a strange sense of humor and often laugh at things we shouldn't, but it is great. It's bloody enough without the over kill most horror flicks have these days and it has its creepy and jumpy parts too. Plus, Johnny Depp is gorgeous, even in the Todd makeup, so that's a plus even if it's not your cup of tea.

I hope you like it. Have you ever seen it live, on stage? It's shot with a similar experience in mind but of course they take advantage of the film process to add even more depth to the scenery and stuff.

PS. Rave Macbeth was wierd but I actually liked it. It wasn't an American film(German actually), so that right there creates huge differences from my perspective. It also wasn't big budget so you get little to no scenery changes, which actually worked for this film, and very few days with so many people around to make huge club scenes look realistic, which had to suck from a filming stand point.

I really enjoyed the colors and lighting they used when the three women would send warnings. It made it seem that much more drug enduced. It was a strange take on Macbeth, but for what it was I though it was good.

Wierd side note, it took me a few episodes to not picture MR and the blond going at it when she was on Supernatural. hehe.

Rave Macbeth is a real mixed bag. the post-dubbing done in many european films always immediately puts me off -- it distances me from the characters in a way i don't like much. but michael's drugged-out sexiness overcomes that distance. his physicality is luscious. the blonde, otoh, i wanted to strangle. the witches? not so great. but it's an interesting project all in all.
