Should I go to Cardiff and see JM perform or should I cancel and go and see him at Collectormania instead?

I have to say I'm not particularly interested in his music but on the other hand it might be nice to go somewhere new and stay in my uber-posh hotel. But getting the coach is going to be a pain and it's going to be an expensive weekend.

Collectormania I get to meet other people apart from JM but it's not a very intimate thing and Manchester isn't very exciting. It will save me money though. Unless I go on a shopping spree and buy loads of Smallville stuff ;)

Decide for me, flist!

I vote Collectormania (not keen on his muzak either). You could spend all the money you'd spend on the hotel on Smallville stuff!! Plus there are lots of other people to see!

Yes, I'm leaning towards that too :)

Have you been to the Manchester Collectormania before? It's a bit different to the MK and London ones, and imho a hell of a lot better. There's nothing can keep me from going

No, I've never been to the one in Manchester before. I remember you saying it was a lot better

It's bigger than the Milton Keynes one (and there's no random weekend shoppers wandering around looking confused), and the room is a better shape than the one they use in London, so they have loads more stalls and generally get quite a few more guests.

Also, because you have to pay for entry (£10/£5 depending on how early you want to go in) they make all of the talks free and you can see as many as you want (I would absolutely recommend seeing the talks, I've been to about 3 each time and all have been hilarious)

Hmm...I think I might have to go then. It does sound good.

If you don't like his music, and you like cons, go to the convention instead.

Personally, I like his music, but you'll be one less person to be jealous of (except for my being jealous about the convention, of course).

Hehe!

To be honest I haven't listened to any of his music since the Ghost of the Robot days. LOL

I did see him perform solo once in Liverpool and I did quite like it but it was a long time ago so I can't really remember

He's very different than in Ghost. Most of those songs weren't written in his range.

Is Ianto singing at the concert too?

I'd say go to the Collectormania as it sounds as though you'd have a more fun time there + save money.

Yeah, I think I'm inclined to agree :)

Hang on hang on - which posh hotel? Is it the Park Plaza? Cause if it is - I can make Cardiff worth your while (ok, in an uber geeky way I think I can).

ohhhh... even swankier!
I mentioned the Park Plaza cause they have a Doctor Who package complete with a blow up 4 foot tall Dalek.
