Today has been a lot! Work was fine. Boss's boss wanted to have a chat about some personnel stuff which I do not feel remotely qualified to do but after she asked my opinion it turned out we were both on the same page. I can't really go into the specifics for confidentiality reasons but it was all fine.

I don't know what's going on at the moment but all my fave Chinese actors have been putting out A+ content over the past 24 hours or so.

Yesterday there was a Lost Tomb Reboot live show where the actors all sang and performed. I haven't had time to watch much of it but I did get to enjoy Zhu Yilong singing, hiding behind his castmate because he is a shy boy, sneakily signing autographs because he is a good boy and dancing awkwardly

Then, over in The Untamed corner of fandom Xiao Zhan showed off his flower arranging skills as part of a brand promotion he's doing and Yibo did a song and dance performance earlier today which is amazing.

Not wanting to be left out, over in k-pop land BTS released a teaser for their new music video including my fave looking amazing (I mean they all look amazing but).

And, finally, as if the Lost Tomb Reboot show wasn't enough Zhu Yilong was back again today with a series of perfume adverts. Rose, Wood and Suede.

And while I was trying to deal with all that I had everyone yelling at me about them all across multiple platforms.

So, yeah, today was a lot. But in a fun way? Just kind of overwhelming to have a bucketload of stuff all drop in close proximity.

And all of this happened while I was at work. I'm used to being in American fandoms where everything happens in the evening for me or while I'm asleep.

Didn't get much writing done last night. Had another 'keep getting distracted' evening so only managed 150 words. I'm getting towards the end of the first draft though which is good. It definitely needs a lot of work but I find editing a lot easier than getting the actual words down on the page. My second draft rarely bears much resemblence to the first. Editing is where I flesh out scenes and add more emotion.

Managed another couple of episodes of The Lost Tomb Reboot last night, and I've realised I need to slow down my viewing. Episodes 23 to the end are still locked to paid subscribers only. I could take out a 1 month free trial and then cancel but if I'm going to do that I'll probably save it for when the second season drops. I'm not sure how quickly or frequently they're unlocking the episodes but if I watch one episode per day that should be enough that by the time I get there everything should be available.

But, in the meantime, here's my Twitter yelling about episodes 11 and 12. More thoughts under the cut.

The Lost Tomb: Reboot eps 11 and 12 )

You are all very patient with all my yelling. If you made it this far you deserve some sort of award.

One thing I realised when I've been doing my Lost Tomb livetweets is it's much easier both for me and others to have everything in one thread. When I was watching Guardian I started a new thread each time I watched some episodes which, in retrospect, was dumb.

So, yesterday, I gathered all the threads together and put them in a shiny new Guardian livetweet thread. I can't believe it's been over a month since I watched it. It simultaneously feels like a lot longer and a lot less. I definitely feel like I've been part of the fandom forever. Everyone is so nice.

Anyway, while I was putting that thread together I thought it might be quite funny to look through the tweets when I knew nothing about the show and compare it to now. Sort of like what I've been doing with The Lost Tomb.

So, let's have a look and laugh at past!Hils
