Fanfic Meme Day 4

4 – Do you have a "muse" character, that speaks to you more than others, or that tries to push their way in, even when the fic isn't about them? Who are they, and why did that character became your muse?

I think I used to in my earlier fanfic days. Spike was for sure when I was writing in the Buffy fandom. And Gabriel definitely was in the SPN fandom. He's such a fun character and of course a trickster is going to want to be in fics that really have nothing to do with him :D

Mostly my fics are driven by plot bunnies rather than a muse these day. Damn those plot bunnies! They generally hop into my brain while I'm trying to sleep which is most inconvenient :-p

Vacation countdown!

So, I've just realised I go on vacation to the US in 3 weeks. No idea how this has happened. I swear it was months away and now it's nearly here and I don't feel remotely organised.

Here's what I'll be doing for those who are interested

6 Oct - Fly to Philadelphia
6-8 Oct - Stay with chaneen and do as yet undetermined stuff. I imagine I will mostly be recovering from jetlag
8 Oct - Bus to New York
8-11 Oct - New York Comic Con
12 Oct - Bus back to Philadelphia
12 - 15 Oct - Stay with chaneen and do as yet undetermined stuff.
15 Oct - Drive to Pittsburgh
15-18 Oct - wincon
19 Oct - Drive back to Philadelphia and get the plane home

Going to be busy but lots of fun! Am feeling slightly daunted by NYCC. I did it a couple of years ago but we only went for the day. This time we're doing the full 4 days. Might be a bit much but at least I'll be with friends who I'm sure will look out for me if the crowds get to be too much.

I am super excited about wincon though. Last time I went was in 2010 and I had a blast even though I was sick with a cold. Loads of my friends from old and new fandoms are going and it's going to be so much fun to hang out with them all.

And I'm doing a couple of panels which is going to be fun. One of them is on Agents of SHIELD and one of them is on Fandom Tropes. Two of my favourite things :D

So when I'm absent in October that's why.
